Product Overview

The T-DRILL S-80 is an automatic collaring machine for manifold production with several outlet diameters. Its sequence includes pilot-hole milling, collar forming and trimming for collars intended to be welded. The collaring tool is adjusted to the programmed diameter automatically.

For Malaysian workshops assessing repeat production, start with the outlet schedule and tube drawing. The machine, tooling and tube-feeding arrangement must match the material, dimensions and required production sequence.

A manifold enquiry needs all the outlet positions

An S-80 enquiry should show the complete manifold, particularly when it contains several collar diameters. Outlet spacing, orientation and tube length influence the proposed operating sequence. A single maximum branch dimension does not describe that production requirement.

  • Include all outlet sizes and angular positions.
  • Identify standard repeat parts and less frequent variants.
  • State the required joint preparation for each outlet.

What the automatic diameter adjustment changes

The brochure describes a tool changer and automatic adjustment of the collaring tool according to the programmed collar diameter. This addresses manual diameter setting during the defined production sequence. Milling, collar forming and trimming are the main stages described for welded collars.

The applicable tooling still depends on the workpiece. Confirm the required material, diameter combinations and joint preparation before assuming a programmed sequence covers every part in the production family.

Review the steel capacity chart carefully

The supplied brochure gives a steel collaring range and a run-tube range, together with a wall-thickness matrix. Those values are linked: a headline maximum collar size is not a universal capacity for every tube and material.

Provide the exact dimensions and grade used in your drawing. If multiple materials are involved, list them separately so the proposed configuration and applicable capacity data can be reviewed for each one.

Include tube feeding and handling in the comparison

The manufacturer describes manual and automatic tube-feeding options. Choosing between them requires information about workpiece length, component weight, batch quantity and the loading/unloading method available in the workshop.

For an existing production area, a layout sketch can show the intended stock position, operator area and downstream joining operation. This helps define a complete workstation enquiry instead of a base-machine comparison that leaves material handling unresolved.

Discuss S-80 requirements through your local contact

Send your manifold drawings, outlet schedule and production quantities to Logamweld with the Malaysian installation location and required timeline. Include the existing workflow and any feeding arrangement you want retained.

The Shah Alam contact route is available for product enquiries and quotation requests. Ask for confirmation of the machine configuration, tool set, feeding options and any additional project requirements included in the proposed scope.

Questions before you choose S-80

Does automatic adjustment remove the need to specify tools?

The selected tooling still has to suit the material, dimensions and joint. Automatic adjustment works within the proposed configuration; it is not confirmation that every outlet size is covered.

Should S-80 and SEC-115 be compared only by automation?

Compare their documented capacities, tool arrangements and feeding proposals against the same manifold drawing. Both address automatic collaring, but the required workpiece and package determine the useful comparison.
