Define the outlet sequence before choosing units
MultiFlex is intended to combine the operations needed for a component rather than apply one identical unit to every job. A lap-joint arrangement and a butt-weld arrangement use the available units differently. The specified joint therefore belongs at the beginning of the selection discussion.
- List the outlet diameters used on each component.
- Show whether the outlets share a joint type or need different preparation.
- Identify operations currently carried out on separate workstations.
Lap-joint and butt-weld configurations
The brochure describes one to three collaring units for a lap-joint arrangement. For butt-weld preparation, it describes a milling unit for elliptical pilot holes with one or two collaring units that include trimming for flat collars.
These configurations provide different operating sequences and capacity conditions. A quotation should identify the actual units, tools and preparation route, so the proposed package can be compared with the required finished joint.
Use the correct chart and diameter reference
The brochure distinguishes capacities for drilling/collaring, elliptical-hole milling/collaring/trimming and other butt-weld preparation. It also uses both inside- and outside-diameter references in its capacity information. Copying one maximum figure across those arrangements can give the wrong basis for selection.
Submit a drawing that states the diameter reference, material and wall thickness. Ask for confirmation of the applicable chart and tooling against every outlet size required.
Plan the feed table around your component family
Table lengths from one to six metres are described in the supplied brochure. The required tube length and loading arrangement affect the footprint and working area. Include the complete range of part lengths, especially if the same setup will produce several manifold types.
For repeat production, identify the expected batch size and how often the outlet layout changes. Review the proposed configuration against the entire family, including the time needed for loading and changeover.
Prepare a MultiFlex project enquiry in Malaysia
Send Logamweld a sample component drawing and an outlet schedule showing sizes, positions and joint types. Add the tube materials, quantities, intended workshop space and Malaysian delivery location.
Use your preferred channel to discuss the proposed tool-unit arrangement with the Shah Alam team. Include any requested feeding, positioning or acceptance requirements in the quotation scope so the full production arrangement can be reviewed.
Questions before you choose S-56 MultiFlex
Does MultiFlex always include three identical collaring units?
The unit arrangement depends on the joint and process. The brochure describes collaring-only arrangements and combinations with milling and trimming, so the proposed configuration needs to be identified.
Can a brochure production example establish my cycle time?
A demonstration concerns a particular component and setup. Provide your own drawing, material, outlet sequence and handling requirement for a meaningful production review.
