Product Overview

The T-DRILL TEC-220 forms branch outlets directly from a run pipe, combining pilot-hole milling, collar forming and trimming in one workstation. Its larger working range makes it a candidate when a branch-pipe drawing exceeds the capacity of a smaller collaring machine.

For an enquiry in Malaysia, identify the actual pipe material, outside diameter, wall thickness and branch connection. The machine's maximum pipe size is only one part of the selection: handling, clamping and access around the component also affect the proposed package.

Larger branch outlets for pipe-fabrication work

Consider TEC-220 for components where the branch outlet and run-pipe dimensions need a larger collaring envelope. The brochure describes process-piping, HVAC and shipbuilding applications. A Malaysian fabricator can use these as starting points when reviewing a water-treatment header, a process-pipe branch or another drawing that requires a formed outlet.

  • Submit the largest and smallest pipe/branch combinations in the project.
  • Identify straight or fabricated components and any adjacent bends or fittings.
  • State the joint preparation and the downstream welding requirement.

Three operations within one workstation

Pilot-hole milling prepares the opening, collaring forms the branch outlet and trimming prepares the connection end. TEC-220 carries out these stages in automatic work cycles controlled from its operation panel. The brochure also describes lubrication integrated with the machining steps.

This combines the operations at one machine, but the complete production sequence still includes loading, positioning, tool changes and unloading. Include those activities when considering the required output.

Review schedule, material and tooling together

A SCH40 reference is not a blanket capacity statement for every pipe diameter and material. Check the run-pipe size, branch diameter and wall thickness together against the correct capacity information. Material grade and the required finished collar also belong in that review.

The tool table and available handling/tooling options should be considered alongside the base machine. Confirm which items are included in the requested quotation and which are separate options.

Plan the component and the workshop around the machine

Large-diameter pipework introduces practical handling questions before any collar is formed. Record the workpiece length and weight, its orientation at the workstation and the available loading route. These are project details for review, rather than assumptions that follow from the maximum pipe diameter.

For an existing fabrication bay, provide the available working area and the actual electrical supply. A layout sketch can make the intended arrangement clearer than a machine-model enquiry alone.

Prepare a TEC-220 quotation enquiry in Malaysia

Send Logamweld the component drawing, pipe schedule or measured wall thickness, branch sizes and the production requirement. Include the Malaysian delivery location, intended installation area and required timeline.

The Shah Alam contact route can be used to discuss the requested package. Ask for confirmation of the proposed machine, clamps, tools, handling options, delivery terms and any additional assistance you want included in the quotation.

Questions before you choose TEC-220

Does the maximum run-pipe size confirm the maximum branch on every job?

No. The permitted combination depends on material, wall thickness and branch size as well as run-pipe diameter. Review the chart against each drawing combination.

When should I compare TEC-220 with T-115?

Compare them when deciding the required pipe and branch envelope. Use the same workpiece drawing, tooling requirements and handling assumptions so the comparison covers the complete workstation.
