Product Overview

The T-DRILL F-200 and F-400 form lips or stub ends directly from the pipe end for loose-flange connections. They are presented together so a buyer can compare the documented size ranges against the same pipework and finished-connection requirement.

The F-400 covers a larger outside-diameter range, but diameter alone does not settle the choice. For a Malaysian quotation enquiry, include material grade, wall thickness, flange details and the workpiece handling arrangement as well as the model name.

F-200 and F-400: compare the working range

The brochure describes F-200 for outside diameters from 21.3 to 219.1 mm and F-400 for 42.4 to 419.0 mm. Those ranges overlap, so a pipe within the overlap still needs to be checked against its material, thickness and forming requirement.

  • Use F-200 capacity information for the smaller-range proposal.
  • Use F-400 information when reviewing the larger pipe envelope.
  • Check each required size in a mixed pipework package, including the smallest one.

What the loose-flange arrangement changes

The machine forms the pipe-end lip that works with a loose flange. This is a different connection arrangement from welding a separate weld-neck flange onto the pipe. The finished joint must match the project drawing and specified connection requirements.

Provide the intended flange details and formed-end dimensions. A machine description alone does not establish acceptance for a particular piping specification, inspection plan or project approval.

Hot and cold capacity are material dependent

The manufacturer separates cold flanging, copper-alloy forming and hot forming of carbon steel in the capacity charts. The appropriate method must be selected for the actual material and thickness. The same maximum wall-thickness number cannot be applied across every material and diameter.

If a project contains different pipe grades, list them individually. Include any requirement for the formed surface, end geometry or subsequent joining so the proposed tooling and method can be reviewed together.

Plan workpiece handling and the complete package

Pipe length, bends and component weight affect how the workpiece will be loaded and supported. For a Malaysian workshop enquiry, describe the production area, available utilities and existing handling equipment. Identify whether the same station will serve short repeat parts or long fabricated pipework.

If hot forming is required, include the heating arrangement in the scope discussion. Ask which tools, supports and accessories are included with the proposed machine.

Prepare a comparison enquiry through Logamweld

Send a size/material schedule and representative pipe-end drawings to the Shah Alam team. Include the flange standard, production quantities, Malaysian delivery location and target timing.

You can request a comparison of the suitable F-Series arrangements using the same project information. If programmable electric control is also being considered, include F-420e in the discussion so the proposals address a consistent forming and handling requirement.

Questions before you choose F-200 & F-400

Is F-400 automatically the better choice because it handles larger pipes?

Choose against the whole required range, including small sizes, materials, thicknesses and the handling setup. A larger maximum diameter does not answer every part of that requirement.

Can a brochure approval statement replace project acceptance?

Use the applicable project specification, joint drawing and acceptance requirements when reviewing the connection. Ask for the relevant technical documentation for the proposed configuration.
